I'm staying there next week and fancied getting a few runs, has anyone fished Birch lake, I believe its the runs lake.

I have not fished it however, the complex is local to me and I follow it with interest.
It certainly opened with a bang with multiple captures the norm but, it appears to have slowed down a bit, that could be the weather.

Hated it, it's not my cup of tea at all. Bland lakes, bland fish and a noddy fest.

Opened with a bang... With a few strange things happening... Including at least one carp that seemed to have grown legs from Hightown and ended up being paraded about on their website.

Muddy little overstocked duck ponds basically with bland pale fish, camper vans in some swims instead of bivvies, swims close together which you have to pre book. I've never seen so many noddies in one location in my life. The only plus side was the location it was very peaceful until early evening when the drinking started. There is some big carp in there but not my cup of tea at all. Give me a nice crystal clear weedy pit any day of the week over that place. I bet the owners are raking it in as it's always rammed, it's easy fishing though so it attracts a certain type of angler.
