Very. Loads of recipes and ideas online and on here - just use the search function or google and you'll find loads of simple recipes. Some use eggs, lots just use water to mix.

I roll my own baits often and just keep aside some paste to wrap boilies.

Super easy and fun to get into and tinker with mate.

Ken Townley's writings on paste on the Haiths site are a great start- loads of ideas here:

+1, you won't go far wrong with Kens ideas
I will also say don't overcomplicate it, some of the best pastes are just bread crumb & a tin of tuna or some cheese.

Paste is not new and I'd go so far as to say it's a bit of a dying art. Look up the likes of Archie Braddock

Typo in the recipe on Ken's blog.

Am pretty sure it's 20 drops of essential oil & not 20ml. The instructions say 20 drops of black pepper oil which is about 2ml

I've only just clicked the link Andy put up and thats a fantastic paste. I've had fish to mid 50's on that after Ken recommended it to me, and its the basis of my method mix to this day, but naturally I've fettled with it.

I've got into paste fishing and have tinkered with plenty of ideas. The one I'm doing well on at the minute is a very simple one but with a twist. I use ground up cat biscuit, skimmed milk powder and micronised maize as the base with some squid brand fish sauce as an extra palatant but what I've been doing is adding a multi enzyme to the liquids and then mixing to a softish texture. Then by warming to around 40 degrees the enzymes get to work, hydrolising the carbs and proteins. What you will up with is a liquid if you let it go too far but once cooled the enzymes are less active so you can slow the process. I then add some maize to get the paste back to the required consistency and the result is a very soluble, manageable paste the leaks off a lot of attraction. Obviously you could add whatever you like to the mix , flavours etc
Are you sure?
