Hi all, any opinions on these please? Looking for casting rod but also a good playing action.
The e class more refined 1k carbon but heard nothing but good stuff about shimano carp rods

I can't comment on the Shimanos but I've had the e-class 13ft 3.5s for well over 10 years now and haven't found a fault with them - really enjoy using them.

I don't go through loads of rods so I'm not one to give comparisons against others.... but you could buy the eclass with confidence I'd say.

Will bang a lead or handle a heavy PVA pag no problem. Its been ages since I fished at range but you'll put a 4oz over 120yds no problem.

When I was looking for a set of long range rods these were my choices too. I ended up with the TX4 as a mint set of 13's came up at a bargain price, but I was leaning towards the e-class before that, just because I like free spirit.

The TX4 does what you want it to and looks good, but isn't a rod I'd choose to use close in. My only dislike is a lack of line clip
