HNY all,

I'm looking to put a tigernut basemix together that's relatively cheap and turns quick. Something similar to ABS Nut mix ideally.

I know roughly what ingredients I need just not sure on a couple things and the ratios if anyone would be kind enough to help.

This is what I've got so far -

300g tiger nut meal
100g mixed nut meal
25g acid casein
25g rennet casein
50g Wpc 80
350g semo
100g white breadcrumb
50g Brocacel

What do reckon chaps? Any pointers? Also any tips for getting the bait to turn quicker.. sugar maybe? Celmanax?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

best food for bacteria are simple carbs, a dash of vit c - brocacel will deffo help too.

for the simple carbs you can go a couple of ways IMO - icing sugar, HFCS or molasses. don't be distracted by sweeteners - they are taste enhancers that fool us into thinking there is sugar included & don't actually contain the bits that the bacteria need.

I made a full fat roasted peanut and tiger nut bait with cc Moore s probiotic yeast powder and feedstims liquid probiotic yeast. It was awesome in catching terms and turned very quickly proving just how probiotic it was......

There isn't a massive amount of chemo stimulatory ingredients in the basemix apart from the yeast but the carp love it in warm water/high pressure conditions.

My nut mix was -

20 % full fat peanut meal or peanut pro
20% tiger flour
10% skimmed milk I think
10 % soya
20% supergold
15% AA Baits clo
5% brocacel

30ml liquid probiotic yeast from feedstim

I can't help with the turning aspect but some random musings. Around a decade ago I was in the same boat. Much research and word of mouth led me to believe that a lot of nut mix boilies were based on a single recipe, might even have been the ABS GKs one, others were versions of it. I ended up rolling CCMs nut recipe (available on the net) and was happy with it but for the cost and it was a pig to roll with the kibbles.
If I were to roll my own again I'd probably use AA Baits HNV Tiger base, it has a very good rep and wouldn't be too costly to add to.
Are you sure?
