Hi all
Snapped an elastic on one of the poles, the elastic is the full length of all sections
Wondering if the Trakker repair kit that contains 6 short sections of elastic will work
Emailed Trakker last week but no reply yet to confirm if these would work
Anyone know

Not a answer to your question but if it's just the black type elastic you can buy it from most camping shops/ebay/Amazon etc, without the 'Carp Tax'
Eg, chosen at random, will be cheaper out there

As vossy1 has mentioned, just go to a camping shop or online and buy the elastic.
Over the years I have replaced the elastic a good few times in my Armo MK1 and it's a simple job to do. I buy mine from Go Outdoors but only because it's a few miles away from me so quicker than ordering online, plus it's only cheap.
But, I'm confused with the Tracker repair kit, having 6 pieces of elastic rather than one long length so it makes the job easier by only having to do all the pole sections. Off hand though, I don't know if you can renew the elastic in the clips that they use that inserts into the sections of poles.

I'll look into the eBay elastic after I check the dia of what's in the bivvy
If you watch the Trakker video they show stretching the snapped elastic and cut it short then push the clip further into the pole that's snapped ( so likely you don't replace elastic to them clips)
You then push new short section in
Was bothered if the armo poles may be different diameter with being fairly old

Unless you have already took the poles apart and seen you have clips, mine has a plastic plug/bush with a hole through it that the elastic passes through that you lever out with a screwdriver, I think they may also be a big screw which you remove first, then you just push out the old elastic, thread the new remembering to pass it through the plastic plug/bush and secure it with an half hitch or two, thread it through the pole, just have a bit of tension in the elastic and secure it in the other plug/bush. Don't cut the elastic till its been secured both ends. If you do and you accidently let go of it and it springs back into the pole, you then have the problem of rethreading it but it is now to short to go through the poles loosely so you need to attach some wire or string to it and stretch it to pull it completely through again. Its not a major problem, but its an annoying hinderance having done it myself.
Don't worry about the pole diameters being different, its the same diameter elastic its only about 3 or 4mm if I recall. This is the stuff I buy from Go Outdoors: -

The short repair section will do it if you do all the sections.
I made my own for a couple of tempest repairs
Wire is from a coat hanger.

The elastic is right through has it was slack at the next joint and a good bit came out when packing away
not sure yet how it's connected at either end has I haven't looked
Trakker have actually replied saying the Repair kit will work but think I'll just get some elastic like you say

Yeah I would have to do all the sections in that rib if using the repair kit (short sections)
But think I will just replace the elastic full length has it is now
