Any owners care to give a review on this, the SP version.
Any issues that have caused you regret in buying this system, easy to erect ? Anything positive and negative ?
I really like the system, looks quick to erect, looks like a great material. Is it a quality product ?
Im not keen on the Fox with its plastic boss and wont buy Nash. I dont really want the latest RS Trakker and Ive found, generally, Solar is a quality brand.

No owners ? what about the South Westerly version, thats slightly cheaper. Same system.
Im keen to hear reviews. I thought they wouldve been more popular to be honest.

I have a South Westerly and it's OK. When up it's very large, good head space, good quality material and a few touches like the condensation sheet and pockets. However, I still don't find it easy to set up and water pools around the central hub. This can be countered with a skull cap, which is fine but again I find it far more difficult to get on than I did the cap on my old tempest. Also the magnetic mozzy mesh is nowhere near as efficient as it looks on the adverts. As I said, overall it is OK but I kind of wish I'd gone for the Frontier instead

Bit of a nightmare to get the front poles in by all accounts. That's what I found from my research and it put me off.

Hi mate
I have the compact come version with the metal block
Very quick set up I love the rear vent with the flap that can be pegged out
I was a bit dubious about the zip in groundsheet but once I had sussed it out it's a great addition stops all the crap I used to get finding its way into the front of the bivvy 👍

Mate has one. Only issue he had was slight seepage around the top of the vent panels.
The magnetic mozzi mesh is bloody brilliant, crash through and it closes behind you before the nasties get in.

Piece of cake to get the poles in , insert the poles then extend the legs , I have a trakker t100 but prefer my compact , as I can get it into tighter swims , best bivy I've owned ,I do t use the ground sheet much though , always found solar products are very well made , I have a pod I use occasionally , and will last a lifetime , a bed chair that doesn't sink, and I can actually sit on
A bed chair cover that's exceptionally warm , I'm finding I don't need the top layer of my fortis bag .
Also when I've needed assistance from solar they have been really helpful!

The Uni Spider and SW are different to the compact and the poles are definitely not that easy to get in, scratch very easily and in general its not the easiest to set up. I am a bit of a Solar fan boy and have a bed, sleeping bag, cover, pod and a host of other bank ware and I agree that it is all well made. However, the SW bivvy I own is not as good as the rest, I can't comment on the Uni and from what I've seen and heard the compact is better but I have the Undercover brolly that I love as my mobile and compact shelter so needed the larger bivvy

Love my SP spider, only real issue I've found being 6ft 1 is the door height is on the low side so I have to stoop pretty low when exiting the bivvy. Other than that I've found it perfect for me. I have the SP wide bedchair which fits perfectly with plenty of spare space. Quick to put up and take down, zip in ground sheet is a big plus for me too as is the black out material.
