Just returned from a French trip where I used a new bivvy for the first time. I had the devils own job taking the pram head poles apart, if I'd been solo I'd still be there. Any suggestions for the future please ?

Undo the tension strap and let the poles relax for a few minutes,then hold the pole by the joint with one hand and take hold of the other end.Slightly lift the end of the pole and you will feel it give a little and should slide out easily

In.all seriousness. There always going to be a bugger. Some times they come apart easy sometimes they don't. No hard and fast rules. Try and have a bit of patience and resist the temptation to smash it in to a thousand pieces...

Sandpaper the paint off of the narrow male section. It's going to wear off anyway and that's what causes them to stick. I did it on my last bivvy and never had the problem.

used to have this prob with my FMJ's, they came with two small squares of rubber that you wrapped around both sections to give you a none slip grip. personally id sand as suggested and carry some rubber just in case

Yeah my old Century FS's came with those same little rubber squares, looked like that dreadful cheese and by god did I have to use them a lot.
