Hi, any recommendations for a decent jump start kit for occasional use ? I'm not a regular driver and with the onset of colder weather the battery starts to drain so I need some back up for if it does flatten out. I've seen a few on Amazon etc but would appreciate any user feedback.

Reading the negative reviews of these high rated items suggests QC errors abound, a bit of pot luck seems to be involved.

Would that be the bulky , old fashioned one ? I've used them before and they worked fine. Most I see now are the pocket sized units, again, with mixed reviews. The most occurring being they crap out after a month or two.

I have the pocket sized one. I guess if it's being used constantly then may well be poor but I have used it a few times over tha last few months and it's been fine......

Another shout for the Halford's one - i have the same pocket sized one and keep it in my glove compartment just in case. Only issue is you can usually only get a couple of bumps before it flattens.

Halfords noco boost is superb. Used it a few times now with my mams car. Tech moves on and the huge heavy boosters are things of the past now. It also has a torch on it and doubles as a portable phone charger.
