Hi,

I have a set of emblems and when i load the line on it loads more on the bottom than the top creating an angled line lay on spool rather than flat.

Sure there is an easy fix by removing / adding some washers??

If someone could advise would be much appreciated.

If there are shims fitted you remove a shim/s this would let the spool sit lower down making the line load higher up on the spool.

Its trial and error to find the correct balance, add shims to move line lower on spool remove shims to make it load higher

Yeah, take washers or shims out. If you have any spare spools the same depth, should be able to get it right in a few mins by winding it back and forth between the spools, removing one washer at a time until desired profile is reached. If you end up with no washers left and it's still loading it too far back, you'll have to take the reel back for an exchange, assuming these must be brand new reels?

Emblems come with 7 red washers , if all are fitted the line lay will be like yours , in fact Terry Edmonds did a video stating this is his preferred way for long casting. Just remove 3 or 4 of the thin red washers from the spindle after taking the spool off. When new 3 or 4 of these washers are left in the box in a small plastic bag, if yours are second hand I'd imagine the previous owner watched Terry's video.

Thanks for the feedback, the reels were brought from Netherlands so not sure if that affected how many washers but will have a play about.
