A lot of the seed mixes (ie red band) used by carp anglers has aniseed oil in already.
Just double check the mix you are buying to see if its in already.
Thousands and thousands of carp get caught on particle mixes with it in every year.

Yes, But I have soaked the maize used for hook bait in it. Not free offerings. Some decent ouzo will do the job as well.
