I'm thinking of getting a power barrow due to injury making it difficult to use a normal barrow
I see there's a few to choose from now
Nash
Carp porter
Solar
Fox
I don't really know what's what with motors and electronics etc. From the specs of all 4 which looks the best in terms of equipment used on the barrows? I know the nash one is supposed to be pants and the solar one isn't out yet but if one of them is miles better than the other on spec it will give me an idea on what's what

The Fox one feels cheap,the barrow itself is superb as I have the normal Transporter.The control on it put me straight off it and I cancelled my order,get a normal transporter and add a kit,that's what I'm going to do if I ever need a power barrow again.I had a carp porter three wheeled big boy and it was terrible,unless you're fishing completely flat grounds then avoid three wheels.The carp porters are not aswell made as they used to be either

Oh so the carp porters have gone downhill? Is this since korda took over or have they been on the decline for a while?
I remember seeing a few video reviews of the nash trax and it looked really poor quality build wise and they all said it had very little power. Have they updated it?
What does everyone think of the solar one spec wise?
Is the fox the most powerful of the lot?

If you convert the normal fox transporter to a power barrow would you not have to buy the fox kit?

No I would buy a kit from one of the companies,I don't need one yet so can wait see who comes about now bcuk have gone bust

+1 for Nash . . .
I've had my Metro for 3yrs and its been solid . . .the frame itself is compact making it versatile for smaller sessions (eg days) but still strong enough to load up to the gunnels. Compare it to the Fox equivalent and its probably a third less weight and with much better joints / welds / no-loss screw connections etc.
I've added LifePO4 batteries which massively improve the range and consistency/availability of 'full' power as well as all the additional panniers and the superb barrow buddies rotating rear wheel kit which means I can lug even more stuff I don't actually need when required. . .
The ONLY downside is the battery compartment being inaccessible when fully loaded; I'm not a van angler so its not a problem for me but does mean unloading the barrow fully to access and recharge batts etc
Just seen a sneak pre-view of the Solar which does look good . . . . however having experience with swivelling rear wheels - not sure if it has brakes which if not is a recipe for disaster - trust me!

I'm torn as well between a ready made power barrow or converting my MK2 fat boy. Any recommendations on kits, can you pay someone to do it all for you?

Also like the look of the Nash but a guy on my syndi said he much preferred the carp porter power barrow with 24v batteries instead of the Nash 12v? 12v doesn't seem enough to me for a barrow probably weighing close to 80kg

Can you change them for “normal” legs? I've got a global conversion to my mk2 porter, but I only use the wheels when I know the banks are flat. Any hint of camber/bumps I'd use normal legs.
Mind you, did Download this year and took it, everyone was looking on enviously as they were trying to drag their festival carts through the mud on up the hills 😂

After owning a fox explorer for several years I upgraded to a fox transporter a couple of months ago and can't fault it. I have never used another power barrow so have nothing to compare it to so can't comment on others.
It's surprisingly big, probably 20% bigger than the explorer, it just goes in the back of my berlingo with the handles folded down.
Battery life seems excellent, it came fully charged and I only topped it up last week as it was struggling to go up the ramp into my van. You can't reach the battery compartment when loaded but has an external input for the charger so I just wheel it into work and charge it in the office.
The under bag is massive, I can get the majority of my bits and pieces in it, groundsheet, brolly sides,water proofs, tripod, loads of stuff.
The mesh handle bag is a nice touch, great for lobbing fags, phone, car keys etc in.
The bucket carriers are a great idea although they do scrape the ground sometimes on a hill or cornering.
I really rate it so far.

Must have had my Prestige power porter 24v Mk6 for getting on 7 years now and it's been bullet proof with one battery change. Don't know what the new ones are like but I'd have no hesitation buying another of theirs even via Korda.
