What's the difference between Shimano Technium line and Shimano Technium Invisitec line? A friend has spooled up with Invisitec and says it coils around the rod tip when he has a fish on.

I have my suspicions he may have spooled it up incorrectly btw but I'd still like to have your thoughts.

And what breaking strain is he using ?

When you have a fish on the line is straight and under tension and even with the worst line in the world I can't see it coiling around the rod tip.

However, if he is having problems with a new line twist it's almost certain to be the way he's put it on.
If it was ok when he put it on and has now started coiling then excessive use of the clutch or baitrunner could be the cause, especially if they are used when using a boat or doing wraps.

You can also get line twist from certain lead shapes...
I almost always use a dumpy pear and they are OK.
Occasionally I will use a hex distance lead as they fly better, but the fluted sides can cause the lead to spin on retrieve.
