As per the title, what's the difference? What do you get for the extra cost of the bivvy over the brolly + the infill?

You get the ground sheet and sometimes the skull cap of you pay a little more.

I went down the brolly plus extras route. Only way I could afford to buy one tbh. Also, I wanted the lighter weight nylon as it dries faster, isn't as heavy and isn't so dark inside. I've bought the add ons in stages, skull cap, solid front, mozzie front and so rarely use a groundsheet that I just cut a tarpaulin to size.
