You would be surprised how much you can get the weight down if you lay it all out and only pack what you really need leave spares in car me and mate are constantly finding ways to cut down
He's done better than me he can do an overnight session his bag weighs less than 5kg it might be even 4kg why do people take 20 leads I take 5 2 on rods 3 spare
We also use a mat with carry strap to use as a quiver 2 rods net sling brolly
I have a mate who takes a big barra bag he can just about lift for a day session I think
It's all about habit

You have this down to a fine art
The proven minimalist approach, without leaving yourself short of essentials, or suffering whilst on the bank, takes time and practice, and weighing and writing down everything.
It can get addictive!
I find it easier to REALLY carry less - if you have to actually carry it ( old skool ) and be comfortable.
NO BARROW or BARROW
Then if you have a lighter barrow load it is even easier to push around the lake, and quicker to up sticks and move or pack up.
I know we need other equipment than backpackers, but it gets you thinking about what you actually use and need to take.
Especially if you look at hiking/backpackers, mountaineers type websites.
The often quoted..
A loaded backpacking pack should not weigh more than about 20 percent of your body weight.
(If you weigh 150 pounds, your pack should not exceed 30 pounds for backpacking.)
A loaded day hiking pack should not weigh more than about 10 percent of your body weight.

I'm actually quite embarrassed how much stuff I take I don't use,I should know better really as my actual fishing / rigs bait etc I've honed down over many years.its the other stuff.
I'm lucky enough to be able to fish slightly longer than most and have always been prepared to move in the middle of night snow, storms etc so anything to make life easier simpler is only a good thing.
This will probably go against popular opinion but the best thing I've done is get rid of my big powerporter and digging out my porterlite.

Had a barrow years ago but sold it. It's just one more thing to load in and out of the car and store at home.
My day gear is very light and makes going fishing a pleasure not a chore.
Overnights slightly harder but possible for walks upto 400 yards. Daiwa mission brolly at just over 3 kilo and jrc compact bed.
