Hello all,
forgive me for making another Bivvy post so soon but i saw this advert on my FB feed come up for one the following:

a Quest Defier mk3 bivvy.
From what i can see, it actually looks pretty decent how ever there are no close up shots of the spreader block or poles.
I was just wondering if anyone on here has one and if so, what were there thoughts on it?

I got the Mk1 and its amazing tbh, the 20k material is so good and its solid as a rock when set up. The material is so thick you genuinely need a headtorch inside in the daytime if you zip the doors up.

how long have you had your mk1 for? does the metal work seem to be of good quality?

The poles on my mark 2 are not the strongest, but the bivv y is great. I bought the overwrap as well that's also top quality and makes the bivvy a lot bigger. The mk3 has stronger poles and a flat back that will improve it even more.

I've got one. Had it a couple of months now so it's only been up and down a few times as yet but I'm well impressed so far. Goes up really easy and as quick as they say. Poles are sturdy and the spreader block looks to be up to the job long term. The zip in groundsheet is just the right level of heavy duty. For under £400 when Trakker Fox etc want best part of £1k you can't go wrong.

yeh the metal work is good, never had an issue with any of the poles or anything, I've had it for abut 3 years now. The inner capsule is a really nice touch as well.

Can't comment on the mk3 but have had a mk2 for coming up 3 years of all year round use and it's been spot on. Had a little niggle with the scull cap and they posted a new one out same day. Mk2 perfect for me mk 3 maybe too big. I would like me to see one in the flesh.

Kind of a weird question but does it come with a decent bag? Strong material and not a super tight fit?

not any pockets on my one but it is the mk1 so not sure about the newer ones, on their Facebook page they actually do really good videos and a walk around of all the features on the bivvies they do. The bags are nice and thick as well, not oversized though so you have to pack everything down right but not too tight honestly.

I've got the Mk1, and yeah, no pockets on mine either. I haven't seen the Mk3 in person, but their Facebook page has some great videos that show off the features if you're interested. The bags are pretty thick, but you'll need to pack smartly—don't overstuff or they might be hard to zip.

I've had a mk1 in DPM camo since they 1st came out.
I've had to replace the mozzie mesh in the front panels, due to it splitting.
I've also had to replace the front poles and the top section of the 1st set of arms with heavier duty aluminium.
The block has been OK, but the bolt holes have elongated in the poles themselves.
I agree that the bivvy material and zip in groundsheet are superb, but its the metalwork and mesh which have let the mk1 version down.
If I wasn't pretty handy with repairs, I would have sold it on as too problematic for regular use.

The mk1 bag is of excellent quality and the bivvy, groundsheet, peak and vapour shield fit in with room to spare.
