Any recommendations for a reel to go on a surface rod, not too big and heavy but not small like a Shimano bait runner either?
Thinking maybe a daiwa gs3000?
It's to go on my old fox range master I think it is 2.5tc.

3000 size will be fine but Daiwa discontinued the GS3000 size a couple of years ago now so u won't be able to buy one new only the GS4000 is available now new

I use both an old origional Shimano aero baitrunner 4500 and a daiwa gs4000. The Shimano is definitely a bigger reel. But both ideal for a light weight surface rod.

I've got two Shimano aero xte/get I think it is but they're not light for their size and I want a wider spool, I just don't get on with them when holding them for awhile, just for barbel fishing really.
Has anyone seen or held the penny rival 6000?
