Looks nice but still not convinced; no better sonar than the TF740 and not sure about not being able to look at boat/lake and sonar in context (ie looking up and down constantly) which is one of the benefits of a separate rc handset / joystick when searching for spots . . .think the SB3 will stay old tech for the time being!

Looks a good bit of kit ,but for me the xr310 with separate Raymarine is the best combo you can have .

XR310 looks handy (and convenient) but for Raymarine to be separate would you not need a docking station / separate transmitter / receiver?

Interesting new handset . I love the thought of an all in one . Such a shame you can't use it with raymarine .
I'm currently looking to upgrade my standard handset and still not made my mind up what is best to do .
I do think the xr310 and Ray marine sounds like the best combo at the minute . I would love to get away from the faff of the extra screen though

XR310 & Raymarine (if you only need a tablet and no aerials at the other end) does look a good balance - I'm not sold on the combo units for visibility reasons when spot finding; I think the faff on a tripod is worth it - plus the steering joystick is on the wrong side for me as I like to hold the rod in my right hand when boating out (have LH stick programmed on my Flysky/SB3 for steering). Joystick on my Actor intuitive and prefer size/ease of this to Flysky!

I took the plunge and bought the xr500 . First impressions are very good . I haven't used it to fish yet but had a trail run
I managed to scan an area and picked some spots and home point . I had the boat going to the spots , slowing down on arrival , opening both hoppers and then returning to home point. This was all done in one action. It looked pretty accurate to the spots also
I want to figure out how to get it to scan and area automatically (can be done apparently)
Also plan on downloading some lake maps off Google earth onto the handset / sd card
Any other xr500 users on here ?
