So as the title suggests I have a free spirit (the spomb) rod and find it abit of a beast! Ive had it a few years now and fancy an upgrade, I need something that can fish comfortably at 130-140 as that's roughly how far I can put a baited rig!

Aviator spod is an awesome but of kit, and more than capable for what you want

Agree with this I just bought one off the back of searching on here. I have a 13ft mk1 fox horizon XT that I use for long range spod/marker. I wanted a second rod so I can have a spod amd marker set up all the time, just bought the 13ft aviator and it's great. The horizon XT is a hell of a rod, it will put a spod on the moon in the right hands, but it feels like an absolute chore to use. I can't describe it, but the Aviator with a midi spomb on just feels similar to casting normal baited rods out. It just feels much less effort Highly recommend.

That's exactly what I'm after as the spomb rod I'm using atm feels like really hard work!
My rods are hi s ers it would have been nice to match but I believe the hi s spod is also quite a heavy rod?
The aviator seems to fit the bill performance wise but there doesn't seem to be many about!

They are that good you won't find many second hand ones!

Definately look no further than the Aviator such an easy rod to use.
