Hiya, os there much difference between Ice washers and the carbon type ones supplied by the likes of Weston developments?

Found this on looking for info on the subject myself. There's a thread I'll link below which gives good info on the 2 types. The Ice seem to be maybe thicker, reports of the making the drag a lot quicker (1 turn). Baitman uses a mod to turn ones that aren't quick into quicker drag, worth a read if that interests you.

Personally I modded one set of spools of my Infinity XBR with a set of Jims Carbontex washers, which were very reasonably priced, I'm quite happy with the results.

So I've decided to fit Ice Washers in my spare spools, got them from Future Reel Servicing and Repairs for £25.98 delivered. I don't want the cap quick drag so didn't buy that option.
I'll be interested to see if there is much difference (I was told by FRS that there wasn't) and if so this option is considerably cheaper than my Carbon ones from Jims @ £16.99 a set, when I bought the original set from Jims they were £12.99 a set.

EDIT 2, FRS advice, clear all grease from metal washers/housing recess, assemble with Ice washers then screw the drag cap on tight and leave it 24 hours in tight position.
