I've bought cheap headlight torches over the years (I've got 4 now)

I would like one that switches on and off. Not cycle through different options before it goes off.
The ones I own switch on, then bright and then flash on/off until they switch off.

Which headlight goes on with one click & off with one click and not cycle through options before finally switching off.

Suggestions please

I use Eveready headtorches, with these you do scroll to the setting you want to use, but once you've settled on one the next click turns them off.
I've got a few of them and find them really easy to use, cheap (ish) and very reliable.

My Nitecore NU25 switches on at low brightness, cycles up to brighter levels. Once it's been on one level for more than about ten seconds, it switches straight off with one press. Small and light enough to sleep with it round your neck and forget it's there until about 11 o'clock in the morning. It's a very good head torch.

Find mine a complete pain. Having to cycle though differen brigntesses when trying to turn it on. I know what OP wants, I want it too, a simple on and off button.

Ditto, was between the NU25 and the Sunblesa one. Went for the NU25 and don't like it. Don't like the strap, don't like scrolling through the settings and also the head easily comes apart from it's seating.

I've also had Energizer ones, they do switch on and off as the OP wants, but the 2 that I had the angle adjuster just went floppy.

I've had loads of cheap headtorches over the years, they're pretty much all rubbish IMO.

I've got the Ridgemonkey one at the moment, good bit of kit I think.

Goes on with one click and can switch off with a long press of the button (about 2s), it does have extra bright and 2 Green Settings but you don't have to use them.
What I also really like is the fact it can be used either way up, it doesn't matter which way up you put it on as it's got buttons on both Top and Bottom. Battery life is very good too and has a battery meter on the front.

I have a "Nitecore NU25" and don't think much to it, it is a good headlight but I dont find it too good for fishing unless you have it permanently on your head. The design is not good.

If I do not have it on my head, and I need to use it in a hurry, the On/Off buton is not intuiative to find, your fingers do not go straight to it, when you pick it up it could be in 4 different positions and with the button top side on the left as you wear it, you may have to turn the torch four times till you turn it on. And its even more complicated with having the recharging port on the bottom and even that can feel like the On/Off button in the dark.

This is why I prefer Energiser head torches, the buttons are central top and regardless of if I pick it up and its upside down or back to front, I just give the torch a press with fingers on top and thumb below and it turns on. Same can be said with head torches with button on the side.

My Nitecore NU25 just gets used now for jobs in house etc.

The everyready and the sunblesa headtorches work in the same manner and can be set up so one switch turns on the white light and the other the red(or green option on the sunblesa)
You do have to remember to wait 3 seconds before switching off or you start scrolling again but you soon get used to that.
I suspect the nitcore works in the same way.

Tried a few head torches over the years and experienced the same as others
Now I use a bobble hat with the built in light
Wear the bobble hat all the time in winter ( keeps the head warm ) and only when needed in the summer
No messing about adjusting settings, the button in the middle is a medium at best on its highest setting then a button press to low and again to off
It lights where your looking and no fiddling about adjusting beams
Carry a led lens or for when I need something brighter or narrower beam.
£10 or less on eBay and fully rechargeable

Led lenser hf6 core.
