Anyone tried these for the cold nights on the bank, I always use a Half Groundsheet and don't suffer from cold feet too badly but this Autumn there have been a couple of occasions where my feet have been frozen, last night being one of them.

Happens to us all . . .eventually! I don't really do winters in a bivvy but do venture down the river and do days in icy conditions - have tried expensive heated socks with battery packs and all sorts of boot liner / sock arrangements however they are all pants; the cheapest and most effective trick is simply using hothand footwarmers - wearing decent merino bridgedale socks slap one over your toes and another on the upper foot if its really cold - job done and comfortable warmth for at least 6-8hrs. For bivvy fishing a pair of unventilated / lined crocs will keep the heat retained as well as allowing you to venture out for a run etc . .
