Can anyone who uses an avid thermatech heated mattress or similar point me in the right direction of what power pack I wouid need that's comparable for it ? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

50000mAH should do you alright on low settings.
I have the Nash heated blanket with four heat settings so similar to the Avid I would guess they use the same sort of power, I use this with the all season sleep system which to be fair is warm anyway but on those real cold nights why not have a bit of comfort, I've done 30 winters and getting older I feel the cold more these days but love my winter fishing.
I use the 77580mAH RM powerpack with it, I tested it last winter when I had it at low setting 29watts which was plenty warm enough and found I can get two nights of about 6/7 hours a night if left on constantly but after further testing as I found once the bag/bed is warmed up It was better to just run it for half an hour before getting in the bag at the highest setting then switch it off once in and settled, getting up for a take or wazz in the night I slip it back on for 15 minutes or so on high and it's back to a nice and cosy heat to get back off to sleep.

For you guys that use these heated mattresses/blankets can I ask if you're using them with their associated systems or stand alones with other brand beds/sleeping bags?
They're at a good price and I'm tempted, not only for fishing but camping, but if they can't be used with other brands there's not much point.

i power my nash heated blanket with a leisure battery, the reason for this is i go for 5 nights at a time when i get chance .

If you can carry one (and you can with barrows) there's little that comes close to a decent leisure battery for longer stays, just weigh a ton. Great when abroad topping up with Solar.

Heated matresses what is the Carp World coming to?? I remember night fishing in the Winter in the mid 60s with a 45" umbrella, plastic sheets pegged to the brolly and 2 navy blue blankets and a sun lounger bed to sleep on, 60 years on and still going strong! Do think bivvies, bed chairs, sleeping bags and overwraps are improvements though, but heated matresses, way over the top!

There's no harm in being as comfortable as possible in the pursuit of a FISH. There are those who elevate themselves above the campers which apparently leads more credence to their captures, they're welcome to it.
Give me heated everything, clothes the lot, its hard enough to get my bones moving properly nowadays.

I would guess the late 60's in my heyday. Cliff Fox from Essex, ahead of his time, is he still with us?

im 55 years young ,building trade all my life, with a torn supraspinatus, or foooked shoulder. our hobby is to be enjoyed NOT endured. there is no medals handed out at the gate for freezing your knackers off. lol

Campers nowadays seems to refer somewhat to those who take the kitchen sink but more those that aren't just there for the fish, so you sir, were by default, (by deprivation of dedicated kit yet to be invented), a proper Carper 
A quick Google shows Fox 1st branded product to be a metal bait dropper in 1967, though a none branded ruler came before it, and if the blurb is correct the same year for Nash.

I too was surprised to read up that Fox started in 1967, I had been night fishing in Kent for 3 years by then but don't remember learning about Fox until a few years later.
