Afternoon all,
I came across a firm called A Carpy Connection on ebay while looking for sinking braided Mainline.
Has anybody used them? Specifically the sinking braid?
The reason I ask is that I want to give braided mainline a go and rather than lump out mega bucks on the likes of TA or Korda thought this may be worth a go first or can anyone recommend other braids to look at.

I've used their braid for spodding. It's just a generic Chinese braid. Wouldn't want to use it as a mainline personally.
For distance work I like whiplash, for closer stuff I like fox submerge.

Yeah I've used their spod braid as well with no problems for a few seasons now. It's faded in colour but that's all. Would happily buy again. Can't comment on their reel braid though. They make YouTube videos which I found really enjoyable 👍🏻

Hi,
You need to look at what you want from a braid mainline as different types will suit different situations.
Our braid mainline is constructed from a combination of PE and PTFE sinking fibres which make it very dense but also very thin and strong with zero stretch.
Not only does the PTFE content help the braid sink, It also adds lubrication which helps the line slide through the rod rings easier when casting.
There are many other braids on the market that sink like a brick but are very thick and do not cast as well. We wanted a low diameter braid that was great for casting but also had good sinking properties. To achieve this we ended up with a 0.26mm braid in 25lb with medium to fast sinking properties. A great all round braid for any situation.
This braid will sink and hug the bottom very well, but it is not as fast and heavy as the 0.40mm braids. This slower sinking property aids itself better when fishing at range were bite indication is paramount.
The high abrasion resistance is perfect for fishing tight against snags or densely weedy waters but also suits long range fishing where the low diameter can get those precious extra yards on the cast.

Our Spod braid is a totally different product to the Braid mainline. The spod braid is designed to float by nature and is made from PE braid. I wouldn't use it as a mainline either.
Our braid mainline is Made From PE and PTFE fibres and is designed to sink and also be used as a mainline.
You will find most if not all the Spod braids on the market are " Generic Chinese Braids".

I've used their bag leadfree leaders, decent price and have worked for me, lovely and soft

I'm guessing China.

Buying in bulk from China, re branding and selling on...I hope you don't have a issue with that, you'll run out of options to buy if so.

I agree. Comments seemed harsh. What do you want his braid to do that's different? Make you a cup of tea? It's braid. If it's well priced and good quality it will sell.

I don't use braid, so have no idea, but perhaps they're just as good as the long established brands but cheaper? Same reason I buy stuff from Bank Tackle or plastic ties off eBay for hair stops.

I was hoping it was some good Yank stuff, he never replied to my question so yes I can only guess.
If they are both generic Chinese fair enough, should of said so in post 7 rather than asking which product i was asking about, this implies there are two different suppliers.
TBH I'm more worried about Caramac being discontinued but you fill you're boots chap.
