Morning all.

I currently have some custom Freespirit E Class, I'm looking to upgrade, can't fault the rods but had them for about 8 years so fancy treating myself. Anyway before I commit is there anything else I should consider. The 12.6 FT Hi S seem to have good feedback, I generally don't fish at big distances however venues can change and I think its worth future proofing your setup.

I'm going down the custom built route again through Kev Clayton, he doesn't have any in stock to see and handle. Also there isn't a shop nearby (Cheshire) that stock Freespirit and Harrison.

There's lots of people on here with plenty of experience, but like most things it's a very subjective topic. BTW I know Free spirit customer service is ***** but going through a rod builder should mitigate some of that.

But is there anything else I should consider before committing? I'm quite fortunate and don't really have a budget as .

I'd certainly consider the 12.6 3.5tc aviators and the atrex 12.6 3.5tc also, I personally use the aviators in that length and tc and they are a fantastic, they also do a matching spod in 12.6 which is handy as no other brands do. I really cannot fault them, I've also built the atrex versions and have not had a bad bit of feedback from them either. Ultimately they'll all have individual characteristics between the brands but there will be one that suits you more than the rest that's for sure.

No I haven't used the 12' 3.5. When I was looking I was advised by several different people (some on here) that the 12'6 3.25 was the best all rounder in the range . I can't speak for any of the others in the range but what I can say is that I love mine and won't be changing . The 12'6 3.25 does everything and is a joy to play fish on . I'm sure whatever you choose you won't be disappointed 👍

I have had the 12.6 3.5tc Hi's roads for 4 years, in my opinion the best all round carp roads I have ever owned and ones I find myself using more and more. I have 2.75 ES rods and Hi'ves in 13 ft so they cover close in and distance fishing. The Hi's rods are good playing rods but will still hit 100yds with .37 line/4 oz lead. You will not regret getting them i assure you

I found them quite soft so I sold mine and got some ive ER's and I can honestly say they're the best all round rod I have ever used. They can do everything and are great for playing fish on
