I've found recently ebay seems to try hide that adverts are from other countries. It used to be blatantly obvious if it was not this country, but really isn't anymore, could be what's happening here.

This was a know glitch happening a while ago
It seems it has resurfaced again, it's to with Ebay thinking one of the accounts of either the buyer or sellier is outside of the UK
No actual Vat should be added when you check out although it shows it will be
I had a few people pull out of sales because of this so contacted Ebay and that's what they advised me

I saw something at a good price on Ebay UK which stated it was coming from Italy. I contacted the seller, as I'm in Italy, and asked what the shipping would be. The shipping was less, but the cost of the item was more. When I asked why the seller said it was because the item would be sold to the UK without VAT, which the buyer would have to pay on top when it arrived. Nowhere in the description was this mentioned.
