Thanks in advance for any guidance you're able to give a (Dutch) new joiner to the forum.
After carp fishing intensely from age 14-27, I am getting back into it at age 37 now. A couple of years ago I bought some Nash Scope 6ft rods for quick sessions when I could find some time. Now I have more time (kids getting a bit older) I want to buy some more serious rods that suite my fishing style.
The venue I'm mostly fishing has carp up to 15-20 kg and is snaggy in some spots but not everywhere. Most fishing I do in the margin, but some good spots are 50-100 meters out. I don't use PVA bags, as the bottom is pretty deep silt and the depth of the lake very shallow (50-150cm at most).
Maybe good to mention is that when I fished from age 14-27 I really like rods with a parabolic/progressive action and playing fish (and of course landing them) with finesse is what gets me excited.
After reading a lot of threads on this forum, and looking at the second hand offerings locally, I am looking at the following options to buy:
1. 3 Free Spirit ES 12 ft rods for €475
2. 3 ESP Terry Hearn Classic MK3 12ft 9” 3.25 lb rods for €550
Which if these would be most recommended, or are there better options I should consider?

If they are in good condition, then buy the Free Spirit rods as fast as you can The price is great, the blanks are fantastic, and they are perfect for up to 100m.

Es are superb. They would be my choice for the situation you describe.

The ESs are so good I actually dislike them!
I've had and sold three sets across the years, for someone who hordes rods and tackle, they are the one rod that does 90% of what you need - a real go to rod and unrivalled in my opinion. I also like the XSs and find them my best casting rods, given I am not the greatest big lead caster!
