Hello. Anyone using these alarms have any reviews? Are they worth buying? Or do I pay extra and get the r4's? Cheers
Hi mate, I bought a set nearly 6months ago, and so far so good.
I originally bought them as a back up set, as one of my delk txi's started to play up when raining, which was becoming a pain, but to be honest I haven't used the delks since buying the r3+.
The Nash alarms were never really in my thoughts, the fox rx+ was what I had planned to buy, but then the Nash r3 was recommended to me, and a set of the plus's came up at a good price.
After a bit of research the general feedback was that they were a good alarm.
I looked at the r3/r3+ and the new r4.The additional features on the r4 weren't really of use to me so I went for the r3+, and as I have said, they have been fine so far.
The r3 might even be worth a look, as there isn't a great deal of difference between the 2 for the price difference.
If you can find somewhere that has stock of them, go and have a look at them in the flesh so to speak ,and see what you prefer. The r3/r3+ are the same size body as far as I can remember, the r4 is bigger.

Don't no if I have a dodgy receiver though as when I tune my alarm into the right hand slot on the receiver (I like to spread them out) I get sound but the receiver don't light up on that slot.
I know that slot can be used to pair 35 additional alarms so I don't know what's going on.

I am currently using R4's had them in a fishing situation for around 22 days use so far and they have been excellent.
No false bleeps and totally reliable with the receiver having good range (before anyone asks this was tested in heavy overgrown situation not miles away with the rigs in totally open water situation)
Like the double curved leds...crisp sound and instant response of the receiver.
Are they worth the extra cash over the R3's hmmm.....love the rechargeable receiver always on a full charge is satisfying on week sessions and the convenience on having AAA's on standby I like.
Defo the speed sensing settings is better than on the R3's IMO

I tested mine at home. I was slowly rolling the wheel as if it was weed etc and it didn't beep but as soon as you speed up like it was a take then off it goes.

Exactly this...
R4 offers even better options especially in waves and windy conditions.
So lovely to go to sleep without the alarms bleeping occasionally. They go off only when you get a run. Perfect

Out of curiosity, how does this work with a drop back? if you can let line out without beeps? Also on the R4 can you remove the ugly snag ears ?
Been promising my 14 year old a set of alarms might buy them more to test against the delks which i get constant false beeps if not desensitized out of oblivion (its defo a present for him though
)

Ok so the Nash alarms work on speed of the line rather just movement. So drop backs work the same way.
Not had issues and false bleeps gone.
All the nash alarms you can remove the snag ears 👍👍
