Have got a session booked up on Grebe Lake on the Dog Lane fishery. Have never fished it before and would be grateful of any advice on tactics

The corner pegs are the best on the lake hence you can never book them - Peg 4 is arguably the best as you have more water and 2x margins that no one else can affect. This is followed by Peg 1 for similar reasons (although this is by the entrance so you will get verbally punished by other anglers/visitors) and then Peg 9 which is at the far end of the lake - this is the shallowest area so can produce in warmer weather. Peg 5 can be good if fished close in with rods and bivvy back from the edge . . .
All other pegs can produce and all methods work but are a bit of a lottery depending on how many lines are in the water / what anglers are next to / opposite you. Some nice fish and the complex is well manicured (if that's your thing) however there are better day tickets in the vicinity IMO. My advice would be to do something different if you are in a non-banker peg; saw a noddy on there catch an upper 30 within 5mins of setting up by using a double 20mm Halibut pellet on a simple mono hair rig with a 10yd underarm pub chuck . . .

i too was thinking about fishing dog lane as im in the area for a few weeks , what other venues would you recommend around there
