Just acquired a bivvy but unfortunately it stinks to high heaven of fags and weed. Anyone know the best way to get rid of the smell.

A solution of water and white vinegar might help. Leave it up for a few days to ventilate and keep going at it with the vinegar

Eat a massive curry and fart in it until exhausted - nothing wrong with the smell of your own

Alternatively use a glade plug in on a Jackery Power bank . . . . .ffs

Reminds me of an M3 I bought years back - stunk of fags and ganja.

I was lucky enough to have somewhere secure enough to leave it up in the open air for a couple of weeks on a barked area so didn't kill the grass - but that pretty much sorted it.

Failing that - joss sticks? - although just swapping one smell for another

Just don't go spraying Fabreeze or anything chemical/solvent on it or you may damage the waterproof membrane - you could try some Nikwax tech wash and a sponge/bucket of water - its designed for Gortex jackets and the like so should be fine on a bivvy.

Fabreze won't damage the waterproof membrane at all.

Leave it as is. Everyone will think you're really carpy when they get a whiff of the chongy cheddar as they walk past your bivvy

Took me forever to stop smoking

My chub cyfish 2 man which i've had for a few years now has on a couple of occasions needed a good clean as it was starting to smell. I did the job with a weakish bleach and hot water solution does the trick for me.

Cat litter is good for nutrilizing smells,and damp.Just put in a tray of some sort on the groundsheet and leave for a while...If you find any herb,send it to me for a taste test!

Have a look at sovereign turbo jet sanitizer, weed users that smoke in their cars use it,I use it in my truck after agency have been in it and it works a treat
