I recently bought a pair of used Greys Platinum Prowlers, one of which has some of the cork missing from the butt. Probably a finger nail sized area but I can feel that there's a fair bit more which is loose around the same area. (Seller was good enough to send me pics of the damage prior to me buying them but for the asking price they were still worth it.) My thoughts are that the easiest way to sort it myself would be to fill the missing area with some suitable filler and then shrink tube both rod butts so that they match.

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding decent non-slip shrink tube please?

Aye, that would fill the missing area fine but there's probably about a 3” section of loose cork which is also lifted from the blank. If I press it, I can feel that it's come away from the rod. If I were to remove the loose stuff too I would be left with quite a large area really. I wondered about trying to get some glue under the loose cork (syringe or something) and then I could just fill the small spot where the cork is missing. If I leave the loose cork alone, it's so thin, maybe 2mm max, that it would only be a matter of time before it also came off. That's why I wondered about going along the shrink tube route.

I'd just glue down the lifting cork areas.

If you use shrink tube on any surface that isn't perfectly flat then imperfections will show through.

I might slit the loose cork with a razor blade so that I can lift it and get some glue under there and then I can just fill the small area after once the rest is stuck down properly.
