Hi guys,

I saw Gerry strongly promoted these, but some other members said they were crap. How are you guys liking these? Need some new storm poles and I am interested in these as you can tighten the cam lock if it starts slipping.

PLEASE get it right !!!!

JUST one person who played with some in a shop said they slipped (Crag)

everyone else said they were fine

OF COURSE if you have the pinch bolt loose they will slip

if you correctly adjust it
a one time deal unless in a few years you get wear then you need to readjust
I will say it again the big reason they DONT slip is

they grip ALL THE WAY ROUND unlike any others that just have one small area that grips

here please just use your eyes !! LINKY POO

I used my 48" storm poles on the rocky Trent River banks using my 17stone to get them in without ever getting any issues over a few seasons I dont bull shine !!!!

Hi mate,

I wasn't doubting your opinion and I aspecially am not saying you talk bull****. I just wanted more opinions on them as I also read some negative feedback in the comments under promotional videos on YouTube of these.

just how can anyone not believe their eyes ?
the guy is doing press ups on them FFS ?

you will always get a % of people that cant work out the simplest of things like the pinch bolt is made to be adjusted for wear etc

How dare you question the findings of O.G.. The Jedi master of research on stuff most people probably haven't even thought of. Only downside of following the way of O.G is it usually ends up with you spending money. Keep it up O.G.

I found they slipped when I tried them in store, but will be returning to have another look following Gerry's advice on tightening them up.
Most cam lok sticks clamp on a single point, but the avid sticks clamp all the way round which makes adjusting them possible.

I ordered 6 of them and just got them in. Indeed, right from the package they slip, but if you tighten the bolt, it is very rigid. The coating is very thin though, 1 of the bolts had too big of a hole and started turning around making tightening the bolt to lock it impossible and last but not least, the head in which the thread is, separated from the pole itself.

I am sending them back.

I won't touch anything made by them,had too much of theirs break on me.Solid bag stems,marker float snap (the actual float)plastic moulding came apart.The worst was a reel that just decided to completely fall apart on a take

I liked the Avid corn stops but they have stopped making the version I like which was the original yellow with the shorter hook.
Strange decision by them.

as I got
2 48" really well used over several seasons
4 x 12" and 2 x 16" and 2 x 36" and all 100% perfect

oh and just ordered 2 of their buzz bars a 9" and a 11" in the go outdoor 15% sale

and NONE of mine slipped when delivered

I can see that mate. Never really rated or considered Avid either, but now even less.
