I could do with advice on how to choose a pair of chest waders around £!00.?. for lake/river never used them so want to avoid common mistakes?. I would not be using in the depths of winter, example do I need studded boots?, what's easy to put on? take off. Your advice please gents.

Unless your buying breathable goretex and stocking variants with wading boots for wearing all day / yomping miles up and down the river; most carpy chest waders are much of a muchness. You can spend more on better / thicker materials etc so it depends on whether you are in and out of the water or just to have on hand in case you need to place margin rigs / jump in to land fish etc.
Either way go a size up so you can get in and out more easily / wear thick socks when its cold - also go for chesties with the shortest boot length for the same easy access reasons. Wouldn't bother with studs; IMO for general carping the lightest chesties are best - currently sporting Vass Tex 400Es which are ok but not really a massive improvement on the cheap Leeda jobbies they replaced!
