With Autumn not too long away I'm in the market for some new shoes/boots.
I'm going to keep away from the branded carp firms as they don't last, had a couple of Nash boots and they haven't lasted.
Any real world reviews on these?

Meindl make good shoes/boots but found them quite heavy. Since buying a pair of on waterproof trainers its all i use now, there so light and like wearing slippers. There designed for running but there totally waterproof. Use them everyday for walking the dog when it rains and im in keswick in the lake district at least one week end every month walking the hills and they have never let me down. I much prefer the trainers over boots.

I owned a pair of these for pretty much 20yrs; used exclusively for fishing. The only reason they got binned was the tread wearing out and falling off - even after supergluing several times!
Brilliant footwear - light with a decent grip sole, genuinely waterproof and really breathable - these trainers never smelt of cat p*ss - ever. Warm in winter with decent socks and cool in the summer with bare feet - expensive but german engineering / quality that lasts so actually cheap in the long run . . .
Currently sporting a pair of Clarkes ATL Trek Lo Goretex which are comfy / a similar design but nowhere near as breathable . . .only time will tell if I need to splurge on another pair of Meindls

I had a pair of Salomon walking boots GTX4 or something like that, lasted about 6yrs of use for fishing and walking etc etc. Excellent boots, waterproof up to the ankle and superb grip-wise. They had to go, earnt their keep so binned them.
Since then I had some Adidas Terrex shoes - horrendously poor quality and leaked like a sieve - never again.
Currently have some Merrell Nova GTX2, comfortable and lightweight, but they allow moisture through even when walking through dewy grass.
Deffo going back to the Salomons, nothing has come close that I have tried for the money.

Merrel Moab 2/Ventilator - have a pair since 2018 still going strong!
