Hi All, I'm looking for a venue under 3 hours from either Calais or one of the French ferry ports I.e st malo, Caen, Le Havre etc

There are 2-3 of us going so either a smaller lake for exclusive booking or a venue that allows individual bookings either is fine

Fishing wise we don't want somewhere that is rock hard or a very Peggy type water. Ideally somewhere with a good head of 30s with chance of a 40 or 50 obviously not expecting to be having 50 lbers crawling up my line just don't want somewhere that's just loads of 20s then one big fish, a nice average stamp would be good

I've looked online and there's absolutely hundreds of places and they all obviously say how amazing their fishery is but that's not always the case so any recommendations would be great

As for when that's not really an issue we are prepared to wait for the right place

Le Lac Cache is perfect for 3 anglers.

Good head of 50lb plus commons & not a rock hard water.
Location is close to Vitry la François
Owners are very nice & hospitable.

Take a look on Angling Lines website, I'm sure they have a few lakes that will fit your requirements.

We are booked onto Molyneux for October, you will find it on Angling lines.

Havent fished it previously but looks similar to what you are after.

Check out Lac de Grosley, the small 10 acre lake would be great for you, fisherman holidays.com. 2 double swims, one at each end of the lake, some good fish and fantastic surroundings..
