Does any one have any tips for stretching a single rod sleeve.
I bought 4 x 10ft single rod sleeves, and whilst my 3 fishing rods fit, my 10ft spod rod is very tight, to the point 1 snappped the tip section off, now Johnson Ross were very helpful and got me a new one.
I also bought a tackle box own brand 11ft rod sleeve, but its too tight to fit the reel in and is not very well padded.
Rather than buy a new rod sleeve, i was hoping to stretch my current one by 1/2 to 1 inch. Which is less than 1%.
The wife said ive got no chance, as i put the washing line prop in to stretch it. This has now become a battle on 2 fronts, firstly save me some money, as i will have 2 x rod sleeves no longer required and 1 x 3 rod hold-all no longer required, and more important than money proving the fun prevention officer wrong.
Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure you can but soaking it in warm water for 5-10 minutes then try to stretch might be worth a try.

No chance of stretching it, it's got a zip too which definitely won't stretch.

Picked up a 13' Spod Rod and wanted a sleeve to put it in, went through 3 different sleeves before I finally found one that was good enough for what I wanted.

Agree 100%, it surely can't be that difficult to get these thing the right size..

Sell what you have & see if you can find something second hand which fits better?

As mentioned youve got little chance of stretching them. Many dont really allow much space for the use of tip and butt protectors in them either.
Maybe something like the Daiwa multi-length sleeve ?

At a guess it will zip up from bottom to top. How about getting Army Andy to make a large tip protector to go over the top of the sleeve and then buckles to the side or even elasticated.
Then all you have to do is put your rods in, zip up as far as you can, pull the cover over, buckle it up and pull the straps tight.
If your any good at DIY, depending on size, just get some plastic waste pipe, maybe 130 mm or larger that fits the top of the sleeve along with an end cap to fit and use plastiweld to glue it in place, line it with foam etc, pop rivet some plastic webbing to it both sides along with buckles that can be tightened and sew some buckles to the sleeve and you will have a hard case tip protector.

Trakker used to do a 3/4 sleeve that had full protection other than the butt - might work for you?

Thanks for the advice chaps, i have a bit of food for thought, i will try and see if i can modify the ones ive got by putting some sort of hood over the top, i might sacrifice the cheaper tackle box one as the hood part, if not the diawa ones look the ideal solution, i should have just bought them 1st time round.
