Anyone got any tips for threading the small piece of silicone onto the dark matter tubing.
I'm going out of my mind trying to get it on!!!
It's about 5 minutes from being chucked into the drink🤬🤬

Perseverance with your finger nails and some twisting...
You could also try a really thin baiting needle. I find a baiting needle is the only way to the the tubing through the plastic tail.
All best done before you put the line through the tubing as otherwise if you drop it you might have the thread the line back through the tubing again (a nightmare in itself!).
All in all they're a right faff to get ready, but once set up they work really well.

put it in some hot water first to loosen it up, Cut the tubing end at an angle as well

Turn it half inside out. You can sort of roll one end over its self. Then put the tubing in and roll it back, then roll it along the tubing and straighten it out where you want it.
Or bin it and use a bit of heat shrink.

I've given up on the heli-safes - expensive and over engineered - simple long buffer and c clip connection to the lead does the same job

ive recently come to the same conclusion - feel like a mug for wasting money on the helisafes

That's probably a very valid point. The amount of leads that have narrowly missed hitting me on the head after releasing during the cast too.

Lol - Im with you on that - I actually split the dark matter tubing a couple of times trying to do the same. Wetting it with saliva helps - or better still some hemp oil if you have some, then when it's where you want it, wipe the oil off so that it doesn't slide off.
Alternatively - Nash do some tungsten beads designed to go on rig tubing. They're ok but Ive only ever found them online. I just prefer the Korda ones as they drop off and are IMHO safer.
