After reading Mike Wilmott's excellent Carp life 2 wondered what the situation was nowadays with Frampton Court lake. Is it dead mans shoes or can anyone apply and go on a list?

To my knowledge it is very much dead man's shoes mate. A couple of guys that used to be on my syndicate were on there and very much regretted dropping their tickets when they did as feel they will never get back on. If you do find out something that contradicts this let me know as not too far from home and having read the same book, as well as Dany Fairbrass's take on the place, I would love to have a chance on there

I have a few mates on the Court it's not dead mans shoes the odd angler get's in every now and again but I think it's more a case of who you know and if the face fits rather than a waiting list, pretty much how most syndicate lakes operate when they've been running any length of time, some odd un's on the Court I stay the other side of the track

He spoke about it in an old Carpworld interview from memory, stating it was his favourite UK lake (at the time anyway). He may well have written about it elsewhere as well but that is what I was referring to from memory

There was a rumour that DF otter fenced the lake to secure his membership, I live less than 20mins away from Frampton apparently from the guys I know that have had a ticket over the years its the holy grail....

The lake that is otter fenced on the estate is the syndicate I'm on this isn't the Court lake.
I know Danny has reputably got a bit of coin but I doubt he would even consider to pay for a 40/50 acre lake to be fenced to secure his membership, so to quell the rumor the Court lake remains un-fenced aside from that I doubt the estate or NE would allow it we had to jump through hoops to get ours done but it is the smallest lake and smallest membership on the estate.

Hard earn't anywhere on there but worth the effort.
Canal is also worth a look on the ticket not many bother for the carp that I know of.
