Just bought a cheap Sonik 2 rod pod from AD and being my first ever pod I am trying to figure it out.

There are 2 short telescopic legs and 2 long telescopic legs. Why? and which go at the front and which go at the back?

I was expecting all 4 legs to be the same length so it would sit level and I could then adjust it up or down when and if required.

hi mate, try putting you alarms on the shorter ones at the front and the back rests on the longer ones. due to the alarms being taller including the body it usual works out that its level then on the pod.

On pods the front sticks are usually 3 inches lower than the back ones to compensate for the height of bite alarms. When you stick alarms on it should all be level.

Arrange as necessary for the situation you find yourself in. Some scenarios (sloping banks) may mean you prefer to have the longer sticks at the front. Or you may find yourself wanting to submerge your rod tips, in which case, you could have the rear ones - extended - at the back. There's no hard or fast rule.

Just don't do what I did with my new MPS Trident pod and put the crossbar at the front as high as possible with the alarm stick and the wonder why the rod handles wouldn't give much spread!

However, I then sussed it out and turned it around and had the alarms at the back with the rests at the front.

Thanks for the help guys. Had a play with it today and putting the short legs at the front worked for me.
