I'm looking at buying one of these, any input by anglers that have one would be great. The only reason I'm buying one is I need to get baits beyond casting range on a large water.
Can users tell me if you get good reception for the echo sounder back at the bank when you are long range fishing, I'm talking 200 yards plus? Thanks

If buying new ? I think there are better boats to consider.
Can you share a bit more in terms of budget ?
If I was sending a boat out 200 yard I'd also want autopilot., not sure if you can do that with the TF640 - handy feature in the dark.
The lead acid batteries they come with are heavy and capacity not great, an upgrade to lithium would probably get your through most of the week though that's another cost.

Go to the search function button and once opened type in “Microcat” ( exactly like this including quotation marks) then toggle General Carp Discussion and Tackle buttons and press search.

They're much better boats on the market than the microcat looked at the new direction ND2 boat . tolson xboat both can have the Tolson fish finder added

I've seen the price at 2k, slightly less if you shop around. I'm not particularly comfortable spending that type of money on a baitboat if I'm honest but a lightly stocked large water I really like the look of I need to be best placed to make the most of it. I just can't see the point of spending good money on a boat without a sounder, spend hours behind rods without knowing its decent ground to present a bait.
Good food for thought that about autopilot, definitely something to look at it had not even crossed my mind.
I've got a deeper but it's just not upto it at that range
2k at a push would be my absolute limit

IMHO there are MUCH better boats to consider
