Looking at getting a crimping tool and crimps. From what I've seen the 0.6 will suit pretty much all the materials I'd use them for up to about 25lb bristle filament. Would I get away 0.5mm or is this too small. Also what's the chances of slippage and if its reasonably high is there a way to combat it?

Once I've crimped the material I just blob the ends so if they do slip they are never getting past the blob, having said that I don't think I've ever had any slip but it gives you peace of mind.

I use 0.6mm and blob the tag end for extra security just remember to line the crimp up correctly in the pliers 👍👍

Never blob the end and never had one slip. That's with either the 0.5 or 0.6 crimps on the 25lb

Same here 0.6 crimp never had to blob the end never had any issues on 25 lbs stiff boom

no chance of slippage if if you crimped it right

Crimps should be 0.05mm over the diameter of the boom/filament.

Personally id be more worried about the flame damaging the hooklink, than any issues with it slipping
