120 yards, with 0.40 straight through tubing, 4oz lead consistently with HI-S 3.5 12FT. Am I asking too much from this blank? I can hit it, but it takes a good few tries..................

Try a lighter lead, only used 3.5oz on my 13ft Hi'S Ives.

The 0.4 line won't help. Are you allowed a shock leader where your fishing? If so try dropping to a 0.35 with a shock leader.

Might not help, but a sensible choice. If a casting lesson can get you the extra distance with a line diameter you are comfortable with then that is the way to go.

Get rid of the tubing and go naked or as little tubing as you can get away with. Swap the 4oz for 3.5oz. Try soaking your spools the night before or get a wet sweat band over them to get the mono as supple as possible. The rod is definitely capable of doing what you want.

Not allowed line diameter under 0.40, must be straight through to tubing and a lead clip. Going to try tomorrow with 3.5oz leads, I'm thinking its the blank because have no issue with the same setup on the Aviator Plus 2; might be just the lead size, didn't have any 3.5 to hand.
