Hi guys a rant and a thought all in one.
Fished a small pond the other day probably less than half a football pitch. Turned up and there's a fella with his partner at a dam end. Ask where they're fishing to as I was going to go to the other end.
Got a rod down there so will pull it in now. Ok.
So sets up.
Now this is known as an intimate pond with probably a fish per capture, if you get one, but they do come out.
So rods set up and sit back in the chair.
Then, Splosh, splosh, splosh a load of ground baits going in in half the pond.
The phone then rings and they're shouting between each other on a 3 way conversation. This happens over 2 hours every 30 minutes.
Then splosh, splosh splosh more pelllets, big ones as boilies are banned hitting the water half way down.
Oh, btw, before I turn up they've had a 16lb out.
Dies down a bit, except the phone calls so thinks it'll calm down.
Bzzzzzzz out comes the the boat boat half way down the pond.
So I pack up and loads the car and walks back to the margins where I was fishing to throw a bit of corn into the margins when matey boys walking towards me. “No luck on the worm boy”
A short chat as I work out the bzzzzzof the bait boat that is going to be being dropped into my now vacant swim, probably as would have been before I got there.
Question is do I fill the lake in as they did and catch or fill them in on the next visit 😂

That made me laugh as some people are so inconsiderate to others,I'm going to be fishing a lake next week that may be similar to your situation only boats are banned and it's a busy lake with about 6ish)swims I've already planned how I'm going to approach it as it's a new experience for me.
If the lake is always busy ie 3/4 people each with 2/3 rods out(maybe4?) then I'd be as far away from the action as possible I know it's hard on smaller water but I'd let all the numpties do their thing and go about things my way.
Ie: quite
No rods out straight away
Bait up little and often
Maybe stringers 2/3 bait ones try and nick a bite

There's a time and place for lumping it in. I've done it on occasion and had damn near every carp in the lake in front of me.
What you don't do is exactly what you describe.
Unfortunately, consideration toward others is a thing of the past these days.
I've seen people use bait boats to drop a rig in the margins, then walk down and throw freebies on top. I mean, WTF? Sometimes it's a case of 'have kit, must use it.'
My match fishing has taught me that most carp anglers bait their swims wrongly - when applied to carp fishing the results were staggering - but there's a difference between feeding a swim and filling it in, so to speak.
You probably did the right thing when you packed up, I experienced similar when I fished Longleat. My one and only visit.
What you don't do is exactly what you describe.

I wouldn't have been happy in your situation, it's not what I go for and would have ruined my day from the moment it happened, so talking to them is pointless, I'd have packed up like you, but that's just my personality, just don't need that in my life. I still think people know what's normal and if they act like that they obviously don't share those values, or have a ulterior motive (getting rid of you) it's a choice...as for speak to them, they might not know (as my sister would say)...yeah!
If it's a club water are there rules about noise or baiting? Could you report the issue to the club to action? I wouldn't go filling a place in for results, espesh if it's a intimate little venue with low stock, asking for algal bloom in hot weather from all that rotting bait if lots of you are doing it.
I did have a longer reply with scenarios I've faced, I narrowed it to 1, the only time I've approached someone on the bank, but on finishing it I can't believe how much I'd typed

One of our club lakes is similar to that except its two acres but with an average depth of about 4ft, it is only lightly stocked but the fish in there have seen everything, I have found the best way of fishing it is with small pva bags, two bait stringers or just simple single hook baits, this guy rolls up with his tackle and two large buckets, he started spodding in and put a full bucket in(close on 8 to 10 kilos) then sat back but I could see he was like a cat on hot bricks, he kept getting up to check his alarms etc etc, he could just not rest, I reeled in and went round to try and give him some advice but he wanted none of it, he knew everything, while I was trying to talk to him I looked at his tackle, everything was brand new and absolutely top drawer stuff, Century C2 rods, top Shimano reels, Century Carbon pod, Solar quick release landing net but then I noticed his reels, he was fishing about 25yds out and his spools where half empty so although he must have been quite wealthy he was new to fishing, I recast out and sat back and he was up and down again and after about an hour out came the spod rod and in went another bucket of bait, the bird life had a birthday, later he went home very disgruntled, oh and by the way I don't know how he managed to get all his tackle into his Audi RS6

Unfortunately it's not a club water but privately owned and very competitively priced. Mint fish to 20.
The other bummer is that word is getting around and whilst I'm up for people fishing and I'm not greedy it's summer and the pond looks like it's going to get hammered by similar people.
The people filling it in have posted piccies of their captures of 16 upwards and it maybe the fish respond to it, so everyone locally is jumping on the band wagon.
More dosh for the owners so they're not concerned.

Had the exact same happen,had a beautiful little water between a few of us even at weekends.Then someone decided to post a few captures on Facebook and the water was rammed and ruined

Same had a 32 out of my local canal few years ago,made a very bad judgement and put it on social media next thing more bivvies down there than ever and people recognising me in summer time when I was walking the canal either fishing or not and someone spotted me who was carping down there,also guys walking up and down the very stretch I had it out with big buckets of bait and baiting up.
Never again!! learned a very harsh lesson don't make a fish of a life time never mind just a fish public,because people want an easy option and just jump on where the success is rather than do the hard work themselves
