One of the waters I fished last year, with some success has seemed to have had an influx of trout from somewhere over the winter (definitely not intentionally stocked), which has resulted in four trout over three trips. I had no bother last year from any other species. I did well on my faithful Atlantic heat, but so far it's proving to be too irresistible to Mr Trout which is causing me a bit of a headache. I've got a few kilos of a maple bait in the freezer which I could try.

Anyone found themselves in this situation before? (Also nuts are banned)

I would not have thought that maple will help you mate , I've caught literally hundreds of trout from the USA on yellow powerbait. It's pretty much tasteless and odourless. I would suggest using donkey chokers though , 25 or 30mm.

Many years ago I fished a water where trout were introduced to reduce the number of silvers. It did not work. They took literally any bait, from boilies to bread and sweetcorn. And most didn't get a chance to learn the error of their ways. Thus the problem was solved quite quickly.
