Used one of these straight out the packet today. Reeled in after the first cast and found the rubber bead had slipped off the bit of silicone sleeve and was doing nothing.

Reset it and cast again. Reeled in and the bead had again slipped off the silicone.

Now I know it's supposed to be a fish safety thing in case of a break but its an absolute joke and makes the rig unfit for purpose. I can't be the only one that's encountered the problem.

I don't fish snaggy swims and the biggest carp I'm likely to catch is about 18lb so what's the answer to the problem?

I'm not going to get snapped off and I just want the bead to stay where I put it.

Make your own leaders buddy. Id never trust others work

I know you shouldn't have too but tie a bit of pva tape on the problem area for the cast ?

Take the bead off and put a baiting needle through it the other way.That way the hole will be smaller and it will be a little bit tighter on the silicone

Add another piece of heat shrink to the existing tubing

I had exactly the same situation at the weekend using them for the first time. Another angler was over in my swim for a chat at the time I reeled in and saw it and said he'd had the exact same thing when he used them.

Seems a chronic issue. Won't use them again. Back to Korda heli leaders or tubing kit.

just take off the bead and silicon and replace with a thinking anglers bead, can't remember the name but they come on a piece of wire and just need threading on.
