Need a new bivvy and looking at either the fox frontier x or the trakker tempest x 100 dpm any input welcome.

Frontier material is much much better,I don't actually own one yet but a few of my mates do and I was asking questions from our group trip this weekend and they all prefer the fox now.

the weight of the tempest reflects in the different material used,I had a frontier x and it was like a body bag when packed away...sold it and gone back to the tempest brolly

I have a frontier x now .
never realised it was so big and heavy packed away but it is designed really well and the material is excellent ..
Real shame about the solid door though, no mesh underneath.To me that is really disappointing.

yes...it's rubbish having to swap doors if it rains etc just have a cover over the mesh you can easily put down if it starts raining, like all the over bivvies have.

I see what you mean.
I know it's an extra expense but I have found that using the vapour peak means that you can use the mozzie door without issue.

I had used different tempests for years but decided to try the frontier x I won't be changing back, my favourite Bivvy I've ever used. I love it I've had it since march 2022 I fish every other weekend for at least 48hrs I have had no problems with it.
Great bivvy yeah it's heavier than the inferior none aquatexx tempests but I don't care about the weight
I no it's a small thing but one major thing I like about the frontier is the flap on the groundsheet, saves getting it muddy my groundsheet still looks brand new on the upside of it.
Plus the clear door is a godsend in the depths of winter and you want to see your rods when raining or cold. The clear window design on the tempests is one of the worst I've ever had on a bivvy

Good to read. I have a Frontier X too (second one as my first one leaked) and I like it very much. A mate of mine mentioned that the Tempests have a better history than Fox bivvies and brolly's (which is true) and I started doubting my purchase and whether to keep the Fox Frontier. I will keep it then! Thanks!
