Hi All, I have taken over a fishery that has some gorgeous size carp including a 25lb Grass Carp, 22lb Ghost plus the unknown. It has been a private match lake of like 4 for the past 7 years. When I fish I can get 30+ Carp out a night 7lb+ but nothing big as the large fish are grouped with the small, great survival technique.

Anyone have any ideas or tips to catch these monsters.

If its really as heavily sticked as you say ,might be an idea to somehow legally remove the over abundance of small fish ..

Until then ,it's down to pure luck if you can get through to the bigger ones..

Double baits,big ,oversized baits ,maybe ?

I have already moved 3 ton of under 4lbs to an abandoned lake which I have made in to a match lake, watching the big carp they hang around with smaller fish so the big fish, will stay out until the small fish moves in on your spot absolutely stunning to watch!

Sounds like typical big fish behaviour

Maybe try two rods on a baited area to bring the smaller fish in and hold them there. Then a third rod with bigger, solitary washed out baits on the edge of the area for the cautious whoppers...

I would use big baits on a snowman just off a baited spot. Like 20mm topped with 15mm pop-up, possibly bigger.

Might be better fishing big boilies but just as singles, these fish will be used the the match style baiting and are essentially mug fish whereas the bigger ones wise up a little after being hauled in X amount of times.
