I am on my syndicate on the Cotswold water park, I have left my head torch at home. There is the tackle den or a Cotswold trekking shop. I need to go and get a Headtorch tomorrow that doesn't cost the earth. The Tackle Den is likely to have a Ridgemonkey are they any good I ideally want a reachable. The trekking shop will have a few different ones I'm sure. Advice appreciated

Personally I hate the bulky horrible Ridgemonkey

I would not have one if they were £1 far too bulky I like something I can fall asleep wearing

The ridgemonkey is horrible to wear and on its highest setting has a high pitch noise

Pop in a Tesco's or Screwfix.
You will be able to pick up a more than acceptable head torch for less than a tenner.

I have just won a headtorch. Time will tell but I am really impressed. It has a wide strip of led at the front and a beam at the side. The front has 2 brightness levels as well as red. Rechargeable through USB and has a motion sensor. When you get a run in the middle of the night you do not have to fumble about looking for a switch as it switches on when you pick it up. It is made of rubber and very flexible. Mine is 350 lumens but brighter available. They are dirt cheap so worth a punt. I don't know how to add a link but if you search Google using led motion sensor headlamp you will see them

If you wear a cap, this is well worthy of consideration: Cap Torch

I don't like head torches for a number of reasons - cumbersome, stupid looking, expensive. The cap light has several modes, can be activated by moving your hand in front of it, battery lasts ages, is USB powered and is easy to put on in the night when leaping out of bed - just make sure your cap is on hand and you're ready to go. Highly recommended.
