I'm fairly new to Carp fishing, after a lifetime of match fishing and Barbel fishing. As everyone seems to be using solid bags in their Carp fishing nowadays. How far can I reasonably expect my MK1 3.25 Aircurves to chuck a normal sized solid bag ??

I'll probably only be fishing day ticket waters during the close season as an example.

A decent cast could comfortably put a solid bag 120 yards with your rods and 0.35mm line. If you struggle then a tapered mainline works well bag fishing.

Bear in mind what a solid bag can weigh.
Even a XS bag with a 2 ounce lead will weight close to 4 ounces in most situations.
Without a leader, 0.35 is definitely not safe for a 100 yard plus cast.

I'm not saying that you should/would fish at that range, just that your rods are capable.

I've got 12lbs GR60 on my Barbel rods, and the spare spools loaded up with 15lbs ESP Syncro. I was going to use the 15lbs

You don't half talk some twaddle when it comes to lead size

Why would it not be safe to cast a 4oz lead or bag 100 yards with .35 line using 3.25lb TC rods? Check the line is not damaged and you will not crack off.

The esp in 15lb is 0.37mm and will cope with solid bags no problem at all,I use 2.5oz inlines with Fox rapide bags and hitting 120 with not one issue
