Just been on there website for a look and thats one hell of a money maker that mind. Loads of different competitions running. The rt7 one has already sold 14000 tickets at £1 a ticket so already he has made £14000 for a £4000 boat. If he sells all the tickets hes made £35000 and thats just one competition. He has his ford transet on there as well and currently made £35000 so far, if all tickets sell hes got £75000 for a bloody tranny.

Loads of these competitions around these days so obviously they do make money, but there are significant costs to take into account, like the cost of the items being raffled and the admin costs etc... weird thing is, I get the impression that Pitchers isn't short of a few quid anyway (I think his fishery was his dad's originally)

Hes always had loads of money as used to know him when he had his shop carp crazy as its not far from me. His parents were pretty well off so they set him up with the shop. The cost of the raffle items is a bit irrelevant when you making 10 times the initial outlay and there not that expensive in the first place other than the rt7 but even that is only 4k and he probably has an agreement with carplounge so wont pay for it until the money is in anyway.

At the end of the day its a business and part of that is making money, no one is raffeling off gear to help out the less fortunate folk. I suppose Marks profile helps bring in more punters and gives the business a more human face compared to other comp sites that are doing the same thing, that said there's plenty of them all doing the same thing so they must all be doing something right or is it going to be another online fad that fades out after a while.

Transit tickets are 99p. There's also about £5k in instant wins in that raffle.
3 people's wages/profit, P&P costs, website costs.... But yeh it looks like a great business model. Good luck to them I say, no one is being forced to buy tickets.

Totally agree, hope he makes a fortune, hes a decent bloke. I never knocked it, just said it generates a lot of money. I would never knock anyone who comes up with a good money making idea. I got a bit confused theres 75000 tickets at £1 each so still adds up to 75k. The jurasic carp hol is the one thats £2 a ticket.
Its a bit like that botb comp where you buy tickets to win Lamborghinis etc. Theres omaze ones now as well to win multi million pound mansions so it obviously generates lots of money.

Well I bit the bullet and bought some tickets last night. Had a text an hour later saying I'd won 3 Hi s rods. Cost me £5:85 for over £1500 worth of rods.
Just not sure what to do with them now!

As long as he has the correct licence from the gambling commission I guess he has a much right as any to profit from it.

Hopefully he has the same safeguards in place that online bookies (should) do to protect people from going over the top. I would imagine the angling fraternity has its fair share of those with a gambling problem.
I had a go, won nothing for £20. Might have another go in the future. I have p*** poor luck with all lottery, raffles, horses, dogs, dice, cards, bingo, fruit, camels. I'm hoping it's all saving up for one big eventual windfall.

Interesting how no one else is getting into this, gambling has always been a big part of spending money for people. Why sell 5kg of boilies for 50 if he is selling them for 1000?
