Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone could tell me the differences between these 2 please?

I remember the 10000 XT coming out but took a break for a while and was looking at getting a used set but seen the 12000 xta too but can't find much between them apart form the bait runner spool.


Any help would be great

Do you mean the ultegra xt and the ultegra xta.
The only major difference is the bait runner 2 spool, and obviously the colour cosmetics.
The xt is Japan and the xta is Malaysia.

I have skim read the thread title... you mean the technium xt...

I think the only difference is the baitrunner spool. Same body.

I've had both. There's no difference apart from the soool “cap” everything is identical apart from the cap.

I have had both and spools are interchangeable I still got 3 XTA spools leftover from when I was robbed :(

I also think the spool cap guide/outer that is screwed to end of spool is deeper on the xta's it might restrict the access if a xt spool cap was used as a side note the spool off the original longcasts also fit

That's certainly true of the old ultegra versions.

It's just the spool cap. The XTA has the 'bait runner' spool cap and the XT doesn't, otherwise they are identical other than for the decals.

I've had both.

The 120000 XTA with BR spool is too bulky.The bail arm catches if the spool is at its furthest point.
The 100000 XT is superior and pretty quick drag without touching it.
